Cougar-Connected Wine Tasting at Visitor Center
Date: September 7, 2018 Time: 3:00 PM - 7:00 PM
Event Description Begin the first Cougar football weekend at the Brelsford WSU Visitor Center for a Cougar-connected wine tasting and open house 3-7 p.m. Friday, Sept. 7. The visitor center, located at 150 E. Spring St., will host a series of pre-game open house and wine tastings Fridays before each home football game, featuring two wineries connected to Washington State University alumni. The tastings are intended to highlight WSU’s thriving viticulture and enology program and active alumni in the industry. The first tasting will highlight a red and white wine from two popular wineries in the region: Colter’s Creek and Erath. The featured wines include Colter’s Creek Winery’s Koos Koos Kia, a red blend, and chardonnay along with Erath Winery’s Pinot Noir and Pinot Gris. Tickets cost $10, include a 2-ounce tasting of each wine and a commemorative Brelsford WSU Visitor Center wine glass (while supplies last). Tickets are available for purchase beginning at 3 p.m. at the visitor center front desk and are limited to one per person. Participants must be 21 or older with proper identification at the time of ticket purchase. Each tasting ticket will also act as a 20 percent coupon on wines sold at the visitor center. New this year, tasting tickets also qualify you to be entered into a raffle featuring a variety of prizes made by Cougs for Cougs. The event is open to all ages. A limited supply of light refreshments will be provided by WSU Dining Services and the visitor center.
